BRYONY BLAKE

A self proclaimed “Studio Rat”, Bryony (She/They) has spent the majority of her life in the dance studio. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Stage, Street, Jazz, Heels, & attended The American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York City to study Acting after graduating high school. After graduating A.M.D.A in 2006 Bryony left NYC and relocated to California, landing a job as a parade dancer at Disneyland for for the year. When her work visa for the USA expired Bryony returned to Vancouver Island and became involved in both the local musical theatre scene; performing in and choreographing numerous shows with Victoria Operatic Society & Kaleidoscope Theatre, as well as the late night event scene; working for a while as a Go Go dancer and back up dancer for Drag shows (Opening for Ivy Winters from RPDR is a core memory from these days). After having kids Bryony relocated back to the Cowichan Valley and has been teaching full time at Steps Ahead Dance, raising her family, and getting into anything crafty or witchy. Bryony is incredibly passionate about expanding their skills within dance and is always trying something new (thank you TikTok!), however discovering the Heels dance genre has been a game changer for them in rediscovering the sensual side of dance and Bryony is SO excited to bring that energy to the Cowichan Valley!
